Fix problems connecting an assistant
What to do when an AI assistant cannot reach Finsplore, is blocked, or has a change waiting for you.
Coming soon
Once Finsplore Connect is available, most problems with it will come down to a few causes. Find the message or symptom below.
The assistant says it needs you to sign in again, or the token is invalid or expired
The assistant's access has ended, or it was disconnected. Access lasts up to 90 days, and access tokens last for the days you chose.
- In Finsplore, open Connect in the menu (under Assistant).
- Check Apps or Access tokens. If the assistant or token has ended, or is missing, it needs to be connected again.
- Connect it again. See Connect ChatGPT to Finsplore, Connect Claude to Finsplore or Connect other AI assistants. For a token, create a new one.
Claude says no Finsplore connector is available
The chat may be an old one, or it may be in a different organisation from the one where you added the connector. Start a new chat in the organisation where you added it. Also check that you opened the connector and clicked Connect, because adding it does not connect it.
"Too many requests from this connected app, please slow down"
An assistant can make up to 120 requests a minute. When it goes over, it is paused for a short time. Wait a minute and ask again.
"Only the user can approve this change"
The assistant suggested a change that only you can approve, such as a deletion, a change to many items, or a change to an account. Open Connect and then Approvals on the website, or Settings and Connected AI in the app, and approve it. On the website, it is listed under Approvals. In the app, it is under Waiting for your approval. See Approve or reject changes an assistant suggests.
"This proposal has expired"
A suggested change waits for 10 minutes. Ask the assistant to suggest the change again.
If the assistant says the connection lacks a permission
The assistant tried something you did not allow, such as making a change when you only gave it See your finances. To allow more, disconnect the assistant and connect it again, choosing more permissions.
"The app that proposed this has been disconnected"
You, or a password change or sign out of all devices, disconnected the assistant after it suggested the change. Connect it again and ask for the change again.
"Finsplore Connect is turned off"
Finsplore Connect is not available for your account yet. It does not show in the menu until it is.
The approval page says the request has expired
A connection request lasts 10 minutes and can be used once. Go back to the assistant and start the connection again.
You are asked to sign in again before approving
Finsplore asks you to sign in again before it connects an assistant or creates an access token, because both give lasting access. If you use two-factor sign-in, you also need the code from your authenticator app. Nothing is connected until you finish.
Something looks wrong
If you see activity you do not recognise, disconnect the assistant straight away, then change your password. See See activity and disconnect an assistant. To report a problem, see Get help and report a problem.
