Finsplore

Understand unusual activity flags

See what Finsplore flags as unusual, what each flag means, and what you can do about it.

Finsplore points out transactions that look out of the ordinary so you can check them. A flag is a prompt to take a look. It is not a finding that anything is wrong.

Finsplore can only read your transactions. It cannot block, reverse or dispute a payment. If you think a payment is not yours, contact your bank straight away, using the number on the back of your card or your bank's official app.

Where to find flags

When something has been flagged, Home shows Was this you? with a Check it button. Click it to open the list. Choose All to see every flag, or Unread only to see the ones you have not looked at yet.

When there is nothing to show, you see No unusual activity - all clear.

What the flags mean

Each flag has a label and a short explanation, with the transaction, the account and when it was spotted.

  • Unusual amount: a payment that is bigger than usual.
  • Possible duplicate: a charge that may have been taken twice.
  • New merchant: a payment to a merchant you have not paid before.
  • Price increase: a subscription that now costs more.
  • Worth a look: something that may be worth checking more closely.

What you can do

While a flag is open, you can choose:

  • Mark read: keeps the flag but clears it from your unread count.
  • This is fine: tells Finsplore you expected the payment. The flag then shows Marked as fine.
  • I don't recognise this: records a note that you do not recognise the payment. Finsplore asks you to confirm with Report it, and the flag then shows Reported.

Reporting a payment in Finsplore does not tell your bank or stop the payment. Contact your bank yourself for anything urgent.
